Anthony
Lewis' Gideon's Trumpet
[ send
me this paper ]
7 pages in length. Gideon's Trumpet by Anthony Lewis sheds
substantial light on the story of a man who was wrongly
accused and jailed for a crime he did not commit. The
eye-opening account was Lewis' way of demonstrating the
significant downfalls of the United States judicial system
when an innocent man could not gain appropriate legal aid.
The writer discusses the various nuances within the book, as
well as addresses the message that it is never too late to
hold out for hope, especially within a legal system that
often goes awry. No other sources used.

Battered
Women’s Syndrome
[ send
me this paper ]
A 5 page paper outlining the statistics surrounding domestic
abuse. Notes that although domestic abuse is not a new
component of our society, it is one which has seemingly
become a more prominent component in recent years. Contends
that with our increased awareness of this phenomenon we have
begun to consider the psychological impacts which battered
women sustain, impacts which sometimes drive them to
violence and even murder. As a consequence, the concept of
the battered woman has now entered the courtroom not solely
as a description of a plaintiff but as a defense strategy
for a women who has committed a violent crime as a result of
the psychological trauma to which she has been subjected.
Oulines the judicial injustices associated with this defense
strategy. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

[ send
me this paper ]
10 pages in length. Reviews the book "Blind Faith"
from a criminal justice perspective. The story is a true
one- about a NJ man who murdered his wife on the Garden
State Parkway and alleged that the act was committed by
strangers in the night who knocked him unconscious while
changing a flat tire. The report examines the prosecutor's
work in investigating, unfolding the true story, and getting
a conviction. Paper argues that sentencing was insufficient.
